Thursday, August 30 - 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. - Pioneer Picnic - Prairie Heritage Center
Bring your lawn chairs and your appetite! The 4th annual fundraising event includes
a menu of pork sandwiches, corn bread, cole slaw, beans and more. Sit outdoors
and enjoy the sunset while listening to music and visiting with friends!

Thursday, September 6 - 5:30 p.m. - Monarch Tagging - Mill Creek Park
Learn about the marvelous monarch and its incredible migratory journey. Meet at
the lodge for a brief program, then spend some time tagging monarchs around the lake.
Saturday & Sunday, September 8 & 9 - Hunter Safety Course - Mill Creek Park
Register now for the Hunter Education Class. In order to purchase a hunting
license, this class is mandatory for everyone born after January 1, 1967. Call
the Conservation Board office to register - 712-295-7200.

This come-and-go event is a great opportunity to learn more about the migratory
patterns of raptors passing through our area. Iowa Lakes Audubon Society
members are on hand to help you identify and learn about these magnificent birds.

Saturday, September 29 - 11:00 - 4:00 - Historical Fall Fest - Prairie Heritage Center
Step back in time as you enjoy an afternoon on the prairie. There will be
horse-drawn wagon rides to the pioneer cemetery, games, crafts, food and more!

Thursday, October 4 @ 7:00pm - Fortified Villages of Northwest Iowa event at the center on . Our presenters are Stephen C Lensink and Lynn M Alex, OSA, UI.

Thursday, October 16 - 5:30 p.m. - Going Batty - Mill Creek Park
Spend some time learning about these creatures of the night through games and
activities. We will then be constructing a bat house to take home. There will be an $8
program fee to cover the cost of supplies. Please pre-register for this program by
calling 295-7200.
