Thursday, August 30 - 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. - Pioneer Picnic - Prairie Heritage Center
Bring your lawn chairs and your appetite! The 4th annual fundraising event includes
a menu of pork sandwiches, corn bread, cole slaw, beans and more. Sit outdoors
and enjoy the sunset while listening to music and visiting with friends!
Thursday, September 6 - 5:30 p.m. - Monarch Tagging - Mill Creek Park
Learn about the marvelous monarch and its incredible migratory journey. Meet at
the lodge for a brief program, then spend some time tagging monarchs around the lake.
Saturday & Sunday, September 8 & 9 - Hunter Safety Course - Mill Creek Park
Register now for the Hunter Education Class. In order to purchase a hunting
license, this class is mandatory for everyone born after January 1, 1967. Call
the Conservation Board office to register - 712-295-7200.
VISIT THE SUNDHOLM EDUCATION CENTER AT THE CLAY COUNTY FAIR! Saturday September 8 through Sunday, September 16 Learn about bats, birds and butterflies, plus more about the conservation activities in the area. Saturday, September 15 - 8:00 - 4:00 - Women in the Outdoors - Oak Grove Park, Hawarden IAWomen, grab your friends and head out to learn new skills! Thursday, October 16 - 5:30 p.m. - Going Batty - Mill Creek Park Spend some time learning about these creatures of the night through games and activities. We will then be constructing a bat house to take home. There will be an $8 program fee to cover the cost of supplies. Please pre-register for this program by calling 295-7200.
